The best of PFW SS19 day 1: Jacquemus’ upsized raffia bags

Lest you can’t decide on what to bring on that beach vacay in the near future, French designer Simon Porte Jacquemus’ new accessory will banish that thought in a second—by allowing you to pack anything and everything you need (and want) in his new raffia bags. While everyone else was downsizing their bag game (proof here and here), Jacquemus proved that the oversized bag silhoeutte is not going anywhere just yet. Models strutted down the runway at his SS19 show clad in airy silhouettes that left little to the imagination, but the sizeable bags toted on their arms ensured that they could transition to parties, soirées, etc right after soaking up the sun by the beach—there is no doubt that you can fit more than one outfit in it. The almost bottomless totes came in sand and a glorious brick red hue, with voluminous raffia fringe lining the sides of the bag for a rustic touch. This is likely the only statement-making accessory you need in your closet next summer.
