Take a peek inside the newly opened Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Paris

Located at 5 avenue Marceau – formerly home to Yves Saint Laurent’s couture house, and now the headquarters of the Fondation Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent – the museum is dedicated to the work of one of the greatest couturiers of twentieth century, featuring an ever-changing rotation of retrospective displays and thematic exhibitions. At the moment, it houses the inaugural display that will be on exhibit until 9 September 2018.

Designed by Nathalie Crinière and Jacques Grange, the exhibition space is a recreation of the original atmosphere of the haute couture house. Visitors will also be able to access to the couturier’s design studio for the very first time.

Unfortunately, Pierre Bergé, co-founder of Yves Saint Laurent and lifelong friend of the designer, passed away three weeks before the opening of the museum. At the inauguration of the venue, French Culture Minister Françoise Nyssen said: “Trailblazers and fighters, Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé were tireless. This museum is an example, the result of a long labor of conservation. They both shared in this task, bringing the same energy, the same urge to push back the borders of creativity and develop their fashion house.”
