Art and theatre happenings to check out this month

Now on until 11 March, Men in Heels @ KLPac

Now on until 31 March, March: Month of Documentaries @ Cinephilia, KL

Join Cinephilia as they showcase the weird, wonderful, bizarre, and often unflinching stories, memoirs, essays, and portrayals of our world and the multitude of people who live in it with nightly documentary screenings.

Entry by a minimum donation of RM10. For more information, visit the event page.

Now on until 18 March, Our Invisible Women @ White Box, Publika

The Our Invisible Women art exhibition showcases the problems women face in the workplace in a way that people won’t be able to ignore, by taking stories and statistics about the relevant problems and turning them into works of art.

For more information, visit the event page.

Now on until 24 March, Soul Killers Don’t Quit @ Minut Init Art Social, PJ

In this art exhibition by Belgian artist Andy Wauman and Malaysian-born James Ly, the works on display borrow heavily from extinct languages, once indigenous practices, abstruse spiritual totems and rarefied religious symbols. They are magical, ancient and primitive in nature and invite the audience to contemplate our relationship with the ‘here’, the ‘now’ and the ‘what will be’.

For more information, visit the event page.

Now on until 31 March, Sometimes When We Touch by Chi Too @ OUR ArtProjects, The Zhongshan Building

The solo exhibition by local artist Chi Too highlights a series of twelve paintings on canvas, which are products of his continued foray into painting and playful interrogation of bitumen as a medium. The works may look similar at first glance, but upon closer inspection you’ll find that the different intensities of bitumen create variations in a visually arresting body of work that will carry you through an experience that oscillates between the confrontational and the meditative.
