9 June, Ilham Conversations: The Creative Process @ Ilham Gallery, KL

All great art begins with a single idea. Join in the conversation and learn from writer and theatre director Jo Kukathas of Instant Café Theatre and filmmaker Kumar Perumal (Jagat) as they share their own creative process and explore how an idea finds its way on to a canvas, a stage, a book, or a movie.

12 June, Paint Night - Petronas Towers @ Hubba Hubba, Seni Mont Kiara

Unleash the artist in you at paint night with Charlotte - with a glass of wine in hand if you like. The subject of the night will be Petronas Towers, and she'll be at hand to help you from start to finish. You'll get to bring home your own artwork of the iconic twin towers at the end of the night.

17 June, Tsumami Zaiku Brooch Japanese Craft Class by Nomura Aya @ Isetan The Japan Store, KL

Tsumami Zaiku is a traditional Japanese craft that originated in the Edo period, about 200 years ago, where small, square-cut pieces of chirimen cloth are pinched and folded into unique, decorative brooches.

17 June, Brush Pen Calligraphy Workshop @ Izipizi Craft Studio, Bukti Jalil

20 June, The Royal Family Live Show @ The Temple of Fine Arts, KL

Even if you weren't a dance enthusiast, we're pretty sure the Royal Family will blow your mind. Based in Palace Dance Studio, New Zealand, the award-winning mega crew led by Parris Geobel has been taking over the dance world by storm, one fiery performance at a time. Stripped back and raw, Malam Sayu Berpuisi will take place outdoors under a banyan tree at night. No microphones, no speakers, no cables, no extensions, just the poets performing their work, accompanied by live improvised music by Feel Tu Penting.

Local artist Phuan Thai Meng's sixth solo exhibition, Imagined Home(land) explores new possibilities to rethink ideas about nationality, ethnicity and social structures through a diverse body of work spanning paintings, photography and map drawings.

This exhibition marks a breakthrough for both Wei-Ling Gallery and the contemporary Malaysian art scene, bringing together 10 leading Malaysian and renowned international artists to showcase their visual and activist projects-from documentary and photography to conceptual practice; appropriation of censored imagery to re-contextualization of leaked footage. The artist line-up Ahmet Öğüt (Turkey), Roger Ballen (USA), Heather Dewey-Hagborg (USA), as well as local artists Anurendra Jegadeva and Ivan Lam.

25 March - 15 July, Patani Semasa @ Ilham Gallery, KL

Showcasing contemporary art from the Golden Peninsula in collaboration with MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum, Chiang Mai, Patani Semasa features works of art as well as cultural representations of the 'Patani Region' from 27 artists-both locals and those engaged with issues relevant to the area in question- a kaleidoscope of different perspectives, methodologies, and responses developed throughout 13 years of experiences.
