Besides having iconic songs such as ‘Wonderwall’ and ‘(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?’ under his belt, Noel Gallagher (now of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds fame) has also amassed a sizable personal collection of guitars, amps and studio pieces from his long-spanning career. Hoping that some of his old equipment will be put to good use, Gallagher will be selling over 50 items via Reverb starting next week.
The items include amps, guitars and other gear used at different points of his recording and touring career; think VOX, Fender and Marshall amps, rare vintage tape echo units, and one-off prototypes, like an Orange Custom Shop NG140 built specifically for him by noted amp guru Adrian Emsley.
“When you’ve been playing as long as I have, you tend to amass a huge amount of gear, and it’s not doing me or anyone else any good if it’s just sitting around,” says Gallagher. “These pieces have a lot of history, but they’re still very playable—I’d love to get them into the hands of someone who will put them to good use.”
Mark your calendar: The Noel Gallagher Collection is set to go live on 2 October at Reverb.
