Where to get your live music fix in KL this month: December ‘17

7 – 9 December (Thurs-Sat), The Music of Disney with Rozz & Mei-Lin Hii ft. Pete Kallang @ No Black Tie

Nothing like a night of Disney music to ease you into the weekend in high spirits. Power vocalist Rozz and classically trained virtuoso Mei-Lin will be joined by Pete Kallang, fondly known as the vocal prince of Borneo, onstage.

There’ll be an admission fee of RM53. For more information, visit the event page

8 – 9 December (Fri-Sat), Classics At The Movies @ Dewan Filharmonik Petronas

The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) and Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (MPYO) join forces under the baton of conductor Naohisa Furusawa to bring you some of Hollywood’s most iconic soundtracks. This includes John Williams’ Star Wars compositions – just in time before The Last Jedi premieres next week.

Only Suite Seats are left, priced at RM240 and RM270. For more information, visit the website.

8 – 10 December (Fri-Sun), The Caffeinated Bach with Ensemble Virama @ Wicked Pancake Parlour (8/12) / Deciso, Bandar Sri Damansara (9-10/12)

Here’s a line from Johann Sebastian Bach’s comic opera Coffee Cantata, which also serves as this production’s centrepiece, to pique your interest: “If I couldn’t, three times a day, be allowed to drink my little cup of coffee, in my anguish I will turn into a shriveled-up roast goat.” Ensemble Virama’s eighth production explores the secular output of Bach.

For ticketing and more information, visit the event page.

10 December (Sun), TWP presents Marshmello @ KL Live

See out the weekend with a bang by turning up your Sunday night with Marshmello at The White Party (TWP). Don’t forget to go dressed in white!

They’ll be accompanied by Nish Tham and Charmaine Lai on the piano and violin respectively.

There is an admission fee of RM98 for Bobo diners, and RM128 for non-diners. For more information, visit the event page.
