The Academic makes brilliant use of Facebook Live to record a looped video

A few days ago, 4-piece Irish band The Academic recorded a special Facebook Live performance of their latest single ‘Bear Claws’, but it definitely wasn’t a run-of-the-mill video. It looks like something OK Go would be proud of. In fact, you could say it’s the first of its kind.

Using the time lag of a few seconds on Facebook Live as a loop sampler, they rearranged the song to fit the delay, adding instruments and layers to the song with each loop. They even made use of the visual delay by putting on different lightings to create an infinite tunnel. It takes a while to build momentum and kick into top gear, but it sure is damn cool to see the whole process.
