Demi Lovato is back! After weeks of teasing her return to mainstream music, the singer officially announced on social media that her EDM-drenched new single, ‘Fast’, will be dropping on Friday, 1 August. “me when I serve my favourite dish…FAST OUR FRIDAY 8.1”, wrote Lovato in her Instagram captions, paired with images of her at a music video shooting.
Judging from the snippets Lovato has shared online, ‘Fast’ is poised to be a splashy summer track. “I wanna go fast / I wanna go hard / I wanna go anywhere, anywhere you are,” the Camp Rock star sings over a bouncy electronic beat.

Music icon Ozzy Osbourne passes away at age 76

On 22 July, it was revealed that Ozzy Osbourne, the hellraising vocal frontman of Black Sabbath, had tragically passed away. “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” Osbourne’s family shared in a statement to CNN. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy at this time.” No official details regarding his cause of death were revealed.
The tragic news came only weeks after Osbourne performed with the rock band in his hometown of Birmingham, England. Alongside bandmates bassist Geezer Butler, drummer Bill Ward, and guitarist Tony Iommi, the concert was Black Sabbath’s first performance in 20 years, and was also billed as Osbourne’s final bow in the band. The heavy rock singer is regarded as one of music’s most enduring icons and has earned nicknames such as the Godfather of Heavy Metal and Prince of Darkness by fans.
Following his death, Osbourne’s music saw a surge in popularity as his album, The Essential Ozzy Osbourne, peaked at ninth place on Billboard’s most popular albums chart. Containing hits such as ‘Crazy Train’ and ‘Diary of a Madman’, the album was streamed over 48 million times in a week, Variety reports.
Tron: Ares lights up the grid
The wait for a new Tron movie might have been a long one (15 years, to be exact), but from the looks of the trailer, it was well worth it. Following the release of the trailer, fans were stunned by the cinematography and cyberpunk visuals paired with head-thumping original music from rock band Nine Inch Nails. In Tron: Ares, a highly sophisticated program, Ares, is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with AI beings. Tron: Ares premieres on 10 October 2025.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 announces more newcomers

Since the confirmation in July 2024 that the 2006 film was getting a sequel and that the main cast would be returning, fans have been eager to see Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci, and Emily Blunt reprise their iconic roles in the fast-paced and cutthroat world of high-fashion journalism.
On 9 July, it was announced that several Hollywood stars would be joining the main four in the highly anticipated sequel. According to Variety, Lucy Liu, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, and Pauline Chalamet have joined the cast. In addition, Trachea Thoms will return as Andie’s best friend, Lily, and Tibor Feldman will reprise his role as Elias-Clark chairman Irv Ravitz.

The second instalment will follow Miranda Priestly “as she navigates her career amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing and as she faces off against Blunt’s character, now a high-powered executive for a luxury group with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs,” as per Variety.
On 1 July, 20th Century Studios announced that The Devil Wears Prada 2 is officially in production. Mark your calendars as the film is set to hit theatres on 1 May 2026!
