Holiday 2022: Christmas specials to watch this festive season

Christmas is not just a time to be excited for gift exchanges and festive feasts, but to also look forward to some feel-good holiday films and shorts. Indeed, when one thinks about Christmas, classics from Home Alone to Love Actually pop up in mind. Rather than tuning in to these popular holiday films this year, we’ve gleaned six recent and contemporary Christmas specials that will hit you in the feels this festive season. So, snuggle up under your blankets with a warm peppermint tea, and watch Christmas come alive on your screen.

For the first time, witness A Christmas Carol, told from the perspective of the ghosts in this hilarious and heartwarming musical comedy with original songs by Oscar winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land). Catch the Deadpool actor burst out into song and dance in his first on-screen musical!

Disenchanted

Whilst not a total Christmas movie per se, Disenchanted is on the list because of its fairytale premise. Follow Giselle and Robert as they discover what happily ever after truly means.

Scrooge: A Christmas Carol

When: 2 December 2022

Where: Netflix

Truly a muse for the Christmas season, Charles Dickens’ timeless tale will be taking another form this year in Netflix’s animated film. Follow along in this supernatural, time-travelling musical adaptation, featuring reimagined songs from two-time Academy Award winner Leslie Bricusse OBE.

Mariah Carey: Merry Christmas To All!
