Catch ‘Fame the Musical’ opening live at KLPAC this weekend

Based on the 1980 musical film of the same name, Fame the Musical follows a group of students at the College of Performing Arts as they navigate through four years of school. Each character face up to different challenges as they come to terms with life and relationships in a bid to strive for excellence.

We see the girls wanting to stay skinny and the boys needing to keep their pride. With things heating up, there are those who strongly desire to get famous quickly while others get a dose of reality as they realised that even for the most talented, too much ambition too soon can be detrimental. All of the struggles, fears and triumphs are presented with a high spirit as the young artists immerse themselves in the world of music, drama and dance.

The production of Fame the Musical will be a two-act show and features live music accompanied by a four-piece band. Clap along to uplifting ballads on stage with famous tunes like I Want to Make Magic, Bring On Tomorrow and of course, the memorable theme song, Fame

The production of Fame the Musical sees Dato’ Faridah Merican serving as the executive producer together with Joe Hasham at the helm as artistic director, Dominic Lucien Luk as creative director and Benjamin Lin in the producer seat. While choreography and scenography is led by Michael Parks.

Fame the Musical runs for 14th – 22nd July 2017. For more information, visit klpac.org or call 03-40479000.
