Supergoop!
Unseen Sunscreen Body 100ml, RM210
“I don’t enjoy body sunscreens. Most tend to leave a tacky feeling and a layer of grease on car seats, your mobile phone and the like. I can’t stand that icky feeling of a layer of white film melting off my skin in Malaysia’s heat. With Supergoop!’s Unseen Sunscreen Body SPF 40, though, I didn’t have to deal with any of that. Like the OG sunscreen, the clear gel disappears into the skin, leaving zero white cast and a satin-matte finish. Both the face and body Unseen Sunscreens are pretty similar at first glance—both are water and sweat-resistant for up to 40 minutes and fragrance-free.
“However, one key difference is that the Unseen Body is noticeably less dry and has a more hydrating formula thanks to ingredients such as olive leaf and plant-derived emollients which are great for retaining moisture. Since using this sunscreen, I never dread having to lather sunscreen all over my body, which is a huge feat for a body sunscreen sceptic like me!”— Marissa Chin, Lifestyle and Culture Writer
Melixir
Vegan Airfit™ Sunscreen SPF 50+ PA++++, RM180

“Melixir is among one of my favourite brands to launch in Malaysia this year, and this sunscreen has quickly become a firm favourite of mine. This SPF50 broad spectrum sunscreen feels just like your favourite moisturiser—rich and creamy, yet lightweight and grease-free. It’s ideal for days when my skin is feeling more irritated or sensitive as its formulation is fortified with soothing medicinal Asian extracts like pine leaf, kale, and basil. Plus, it applies with absolutely no white cast, making it a great option for those with deeper skin tones too!” — Redzhanna Jazmin, Beauty Editor
Shiseido
Urban Environment Triple Beauty Suncare Emulsion, RM195

“When choosing sunscreens, I tend to gravitate to multi-taskers—formulations that go above and beyond just sun protection. So, when Shiseido launched this new vitalising, glow-giving hydrating sunscreen milk, I had to get my hands on it. This sunscreen has a lightweight, oil-free milky texture that is infused with hydrating hyaluronic acid, pollution-fighting antioxidants and SPF50 broad-spectrum sunscreen filters. It goes on feeling quite rich and heavy, but eventually absorbs into the skin after a few minutes, leaving behind a natural, dewy finish and a lovely, light fragrance. I love how it feels—completely weightless, comfortable and non-greasy. Plus, it makes for the perfect brightening priming step before makeup. Just make sure to shake it thoroughly before applying and wait for it to dry down fully before following up with your foundation!” — Redzhanna Jazmin, Beauty Editor
Dr Dennis Gross
All-Physical Ultimate Defence Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 50, RM195
“Dr Dennis Gross’s All-Physical Ultimate Defence Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 50 arrived just as I was about to run out of sunscreen, and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by the tube. It comes with a pump so you can easily measure out the correct amount of sunscreen! Other than that, the fragrance-free sunscreen absorbs nicely on the skin and keeps my skin hydrated throughout the day, thanks to the moisturising complex of humectants in its formula, which helps to bind moisture to the skin. This also means that it works well as a primer before I put makeup on. The only drawback is that the texture is a bit thick for my preference, which makes it feel slightly sticky when applied to my combination skin.” — Benedict Unang, Fashion Writer
Sigi Skin
Morning Glow Physical Sunscreen 50ml, RM192

“I’ve heard so much about this Singaporean-owned brand, and I’m excited to have finally been able to try their cult-favourite sunscreen. This broad-spectrum physical sunscreen is SPF50/PA++++ and it also contains nourishing ingredients like pore-refining niacinamide, moisturising avocado extract, and smoothing acai extract. I love how hydrating and soothing it feels on my skin, but I will say that its thick, creamy texture does take a while to absorb. Further, it has a slight white cast, but this disappears completely once the product has been fully rubbed in. I actually really like this for every day—it leaves a dewy finish on the skin that isn’t tacky or greasy-feeling, which is perfect on its own or under makeup.” — Redzhanna Jazmin, Beauty Editor
Paula’s Choice
Advanced Sun Protection Daily Moisturizer SPF 50 PA++++, RM199
“This new sunscreen from Paula’s Choice combines the benefits of an everyday moisturiser with sun protection to streamline your routine. Now, I’ve got combination-oily skin, so this formulation was a tad too dewy for my liking. That said, I can really see someone with dry skin (or someone living in a less humid climate) really benefiting from this formulation. Currently, I like using this alone and following up with a powder foundation on days when I’m looking to keep my look more natural. Not only does it offer broad-spectrum protection, but it is also packed with antioxidants to help prevent premature ageing. It does have a slight white cast initially, but this quickly disappears when the product has been worked into the skin, so just trust the process!” — Redzhanna Jazmin, Beauty Editor
