This week in skincare

Hailey Bieber plays Dr Pimple Popper

In the latest episode of their Facebook Watch series, the happy couple dishes on Justin’s recent struggles with adult acne and his current treatment plan. Spoiler alert: the plan is Hailey’s bespoke skincare routine, which includes serums, masks and a healthy dose of “picking and prodding”. Guess Mrs Bieber can add facialist to her CV, eh?

Denise Richards launches a skincare line

The actress has dished on her new skincare routine, which is composed entirely of her own brand CB Me Beauty. She stated that a great skincare routine is a much preferred alternative to Botox and fillers, the latter of which she has sworn off for the future. The six products use a variety of cannabis-derived ingredients including hemp and CBD oil, and so far the lineup includes a cleanser, cream-oil moisturiser, eye cream, retinol serum, sunscreen and neck treatment.

Marilyn Monroe’s skincare routine is leaked by the Makeup Museum

It turns out that even 60 years after her mysterious death, there is still so much to learn about the pop culture icon. The Makeup Museum in New York City shared the personalised skincare routine prescribed to late actress in celebration of their latest exhibit; and it includes products that are still available today! A notable mention is Erno Laszlo’s Normalizer Shake-It tinted toner, which he has relaunched this month in honour of the exhibit.

This week in hair makeovers

Adele sports her longest locks yet

The singer posted her first snap of the year in honour of her 32nd birthday, showing off her curvy figure and newly long, luscious locks. She’s absolutely radiant in the new snap, and all the comments seem to agree—for example, Chrissy Teigen wrote an apt “I mean are you kidding me”, which just about sums up how good this look is.

Ruby Rose does a half-and-half buzzcut a favour

The model and actress shared a snap of her new ‘do, which we think looks very snow-cone chic. She aptly captioned the pic with “What can I say!? Sometimes you just need to feel blue and other times you need pink to lighten your day.” We couldn’t have said it better—this look is a keeper!

This week in Met Gala makeup

The #MetGalaChallenge brings us some stellar recreations

Many were heartbroken over the cancellation of the Met Gala (aka the biggest event of the year), but in true optimist fashion, some very creative and incredible people have taken the opportunity to celebrate it nonetheless: Enter the #MetGalaChallenge. People everywhere have taken to Instagram to recreate their favourite looks from the events through the years, including Gigi Hadid’s infamous camp look from last year.

Bella Hadid’s makeup artist reveals her would-be 2020 look

Sam Visser, the go-to makeup artist of it-girl celebs everywhere shared two potential Met Gala looks for model Bella Hadid through some sultry screen tests. The theme this year was set to be About Time: Fashion and Duration, and both of Hadid’s looks scream ’70s chic–given the recent resurgence in curtain bangs, long layers and bell bottoms, we’d say that they would’ve nailed the theme!
