Rodarte makes another beauty statement with its latest (super extra) runway look
We've established that glitter isn't gonna go anywhere this year, and both beauty brands and runway looks are all the justification you need to rock this trend, stat. Just when we thought that this sparkly trend couldn't be any more extravagant than the myriad of glitter-fied looks we saw last year, Rodarte's latest runway show at Los Angeles proved us wrong with a retro-inspired extravaganza for its Autumn/Winter 2019 collection.
Never one to back down from making a beauty statement or two—from baby's breath hair crowns to smudged, noir lips, the American fashion brand is known for its stunning runway beauty moments over the years. This time around, the Mulleavy sisters brought the collection back to their hometown of Pasadena, California with a theatrical spectacle.
Makeup artist James Kaliardos gave models a '70s-inspired look comprising glitter-pressed eyelids and lips in matching hues—all vivid shades of fuchsia, baby pink and red. To match the over-the-top voluminous ruffles and sequined looks, the glitter pigments come in holographic pigments of various sizes for added pizzazz—and to catch the spotlight and all angles.
