Yesterday night’s Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas had so many headline-grabbing moments that we’re not even sure where to begin. From K-pop boyband BTS taking home the Best Duo/Group Award to pop princess Taylor Swift opening the ceremony with her new single (spot Panic! At The Disco’s Brendon Urie’s seriously charming, umbrella-clutching entrance).
While there were plenty on stage to pore over, our attention naturally gravitated to all the breathtaking beauty looks that accompanied celebrities’ OTT ruffled, spangled, and glimmer-filled outfits of the night. The magic of monochromatic makeup was out in full force: T Swizzle’s lilac look (that went perfectly well with her newfound Insta-aesthetic) was complemented with shades of purple on her eyelids, as with Olivia Wilde’s smouldering smokey eye—reflecting her sequined high-neck ensemble with aplomb.
Lip colours were popping on the red carpet—Halsey’s indigo-blue lippie stole the limelight in tandem with lower lashes of the same hue, while Cobie Smulders went for glam with a hot pink-red lip colour that did wonders for her porcelain complexion. Kiernan Shipka and Priyanka Chopra were all the glitter inspo we needed for the night—the former brought new meaning to “starry-eyed“, while the latter played with tones of silver and purple for a statement-making look.
