Golden Globes 2025: Emma Stone’s Short Crop, Ariana Grande’s Slow Brunette-ification and More Celeb Hair Makeovers
Hair refresh
If you’re looking to revamp your look for the new year, look no further than the Golden Globes red carpet for inspiration.
Award season is back in session, and as usual, the Golden Globes red carpet is starting it off with a bang. From big chops to colour refreshes, our favourite celebrities are kicking off the new year with brand-new looks—and we’re here to round up the best of them to inspire your new year makeovers.
By our calculations, copper is making a comeback this year, but in a deeper, richer hue than 2023’s ginger craze. That, and we’ll be moving away from bright platinum in favour of creamy, dark honey blondes. In addition, ‘tis the season for a big chop, whether you’re going lob and bob length or for a full pixie. Whatever you fancy, we’ve got all the inspo you need below.
Emma Stone’s pixie cut

The actress recently buzzed off her long locks for her role in the upcoming Yorgos Lanthimos film, ‘Bugonia’, and now that filming has finally wrapped the regrowth process is underway. Stone debuted her new pixie on this year’s Golden Globes red carpet! We love how the cut frames her features and how the darker red-brown brings out her eyes.
Ariana Grande’s darker, warmer blonde

The singer-actress has been rocking a pale, creamy blonde for her role as Glinda in Wicked, but now that filming has wrapped on the film’s sequel it looks like she’s beginning to make a slow return to her signature brunette. This deep blonde colour complements her complexion well and the side-parted microbangs add a girly touch to the whole look.
Zendaya’s wavy copper bob

Spoiler alert: This is a faux bob. That said, though the cut is fake, the glamour it brings to Zendaya’s look is anything but. The warm coppery brown is the perfect winter hue for her tanned skin, and the feminine, soft waves contrast her sleek, structured outfit beautifully.
Keira Knightley’s crisp, sleek bob

If you’re over the faux and you’re looking to commit to a big chop, let Keira Knightley inspire you with her new bob. For the Golden Globes red carpet, hairstylist Ben Skervin gave the Black Doves actress a blunt bob, rounding off the ends for a little texture and volume. Knightley’s sharp bone structure certainly makes the bob all the more fabulous, but we suspect it’ll suit face shapes of any kind.
Michelle Yeoh’s short bangs

Making a case for blunt bangs is national treasure and Wicked star Michelle Yeoh. The Ipoh-born star debuted her fresh fringe last year, but this sleek updo by hairstylist Renato Campora showcases them front and centre. Youthful and chic, Yeoh proves that when done right, great bangs can be their own accessory.
