These are the exact beauty products Rihanna used for her Superbowl makeup

The OG “Bad Gal” took to the stage at the Superbowl Half-Time Show with another iconic look—here’s how to recreate it, according to her makeup artist!

We may know nothing about American Football, but we do know a good beauty look when we see one. In Rihanna’s big return to the stage at the Superbowl Half-Time Show, the singer turned heads—and not just because of her pregnancy announcement, either.

Rather, it was her makeup that caught our eye—a striking look with a vibrant pop of colour in the form of her iconic red lip. Aptly put by Priscilla Ono, Fenty Beauty’s Global Makeup Artist, “there’s nothing more iconic to Rihanna than her soft matte skin and a bold red lip.”

Now, the look is right at home on the Superbowl’s vast red stage, but we thought it would also make for a stunning date night look. So, with Valentine’s Day coming up tomorrow, we’ve put together a guide for you to get the look for yourself!

Step 1: Skincare

According to Ono, skin prep is essential to creating the perfect base, so for the week leading up to Game Day, Rihanna’s skin routine consisted of a rotation of gentle exfoliation and nourishing steps for her face and lips.

Step 2: Makeup

To achieve the flawless, radiant base, Ono used very thin layers of the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation, Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Powder Foundation and Invisimatte Instant Setting + Blotting Powder. The thinner layers perfected the skin while preventing cakiness, making the base totally performance-proof.

Fun fact: Rihanna used the Invisimatte Instant Setting + Blotting Powder to top up her makeup mid-performance—it’s the perfect everyday oil-buster!

Then comes her eyeshadow look—while Ono hasn’t confirmed which palette was used to create the glittery taupe smokey eye Rihanna wears, we have our suspicions that it’s the Snap Shadows Eyeshadow Palette in True Neutrals. Fortunately, even if you don’t have this on you, any neutral palette will do, such as the Anastasia Beverly Hills Mini Soft Glam Eye Shadow Palette, the Dior 5 Couleurs Couture Eyeshadow Palette in 579 Jungle, or the Tom Ford Beauty Eye Color Quad in Golden Mink.

To finish the look off, Ono used the new Fenty Icon Velvet Liquid Lipstick in shade The MVP—a non-drying, long-wearing and lightweight liquid lipstick that’s perfect both on stage and on dates (wink wink). The candy apple red is perfect on any skin tone and is a great way to draw the eye to your pout!
