Why the revamped Dior J’adore L’Or is the very epitome of luxury

First debuting in 2010, the elegant Dior J’Adore L’Or is one evocative fragrance that encompasses both intense yet fruity floral notes. Created by master perfume Francois Demachy, the fragrance is head-turning in terms of both scent profile and the design of the bottle. With notes of Grasse Jasmine, May Rose, Tahitian Vanilla, and Ylang Ylang, it is emblematic as it is iconic, thanks to the sensual curves of the gold fragrance bottle as well.

This year, the J’adore L’Or sports a new design with a unique necklace that has been engraved on, giving the fragrance a new lease of life with the subtle engraving along its long neck. Fun fact: The precise engraving took approximately five years to achieve, designed by the House of Dior that bears an uncanny resemblance to traditional hand-crafted work. Inspired by the 2013 jewellery edition necklace, each golden ring is no thicker than the width of a strand of hair, thus mimicking the fluidity of a delicate necklace that encircles a woman’s throat.

Scent wise, the main ingredients used for the J’Adore L’Or are the embodiment of luxury. Take Grasse Jasmine, for instance—it is one of the most demanding, fragile and difficult flowers to grow, hence its scarcity in the industry. The flowers can only grow in the best conditions (not too balmy or frigid) are only hand-harvested from the end of July between the hours of 6am to 10am. Alongside that, May Roses are only harvested every day from May to June, and the flowers need to be transformed promptly into an absolute lest it wilts and lose the fragrance. One perfume that is extreme in all facets, the J’Adore L’Or is both a remarkable adornment and an innovative elixir to own.

Dior J’Adore L’Or (RM595 for 40ml) is now available at all Dior Beauty counters and stores nationwide.
