The Imaginary Garden of L’Occitane x Pierre Hermé

Olivier Baussan’s wish list was clear – he wanted to create an exclusive Holiday fragrance collection, which embodied his vision of how a festive Christmas filled with magical moments should be.

The founder of L’Occitane knew in order to achieve this vision – his ‘Imaginary Garden’ if you will – he’d have to work with a nose with a fine appreciation for quality ingredients, who is also blessed with a gift for flavours. He then invited his friend and renowned pastry chef Pierre Hermé for what would be one of the most unexpected yet exciting collaborations we’ve seen in beauty this year. The result: an extraordinary yet complex collection of olfactory memories that are personal to both Baussan and Hermé, but more importantly, unique to the land of Corsica.

Jasmin-Imortelle-Neroli

Clearly, nothing is impossible in Pierre Hermé’s world – he turned an unusual blend of contrasting notes of Jasmine, Imortelle and Neroli into instant scent soul mates. The floral-woody scent is rich but light, all in all perfect for day-to-night wear.

This is for you if… You like floral, feminine scents.

Key ingredients: Immortelle Essential Oils, Jasmine Absolute, Neroli Essence.

Pamplemousse-Rhubarbe

Our favourite pick from the collection is this unassuming yet invigorating blend of temperamental scents and flavours of Rhubarb, Clove and Nutmeg, which surprisingly work amazingly well together – who would have thought?

This is for you if… You like citrusy, zesty scents.

Key ingredients: Grapefruit Essence, Rhubarb accord, Nutmeg, Vetiver.

Miel Mandarine

Picture this: golden honey crystallised on a sun-drenched slice of Mandarin Orange, with hints of spun sugar and almond for a festive touch. Now picture this delectable blend of ingredients in a hand cream and lip balm – if you’re thinking it’s almost good enough to eat, you are absolutely right.

This is for you if… You like citrusy scents.

Key ingredients: Mandarin Orange, Corsican Immortelle, Tonka Absolute, Beeswax.

The L’Occitane x Pierre Hermé collection will be available at all L’Occitane boutiques from mid-November 2015.
