Although our home city doesn’t have any salons specifically dedicated to the art of the perfect wash and blow dry, we can happily say that Centro does an excellent job from RM 55 and upwards, with scalp massages that are so good, you’ll be tempted to turn around and ask your shampoo boy to marry you (true story). Their two branches are conveniently located in The Gardens Mall and Suria KLCC, so whether you have an event in town or out of it, you’ll be able to get the blow dry you’re craving to complete your look.
Haute Air, New York
NYC is the city that invented the concept of the blow dry bar, so as you can imagine, you’re spoilt for choice there. We, however, are partial to Haute Air in SoHo – a charming, relaxed ‘haus’ that will have you sporting its signature Blowout in no more than 45 minutes, using cult Bumble and bumble hair products, no less. If you’ve got a hot date on the cards, go for their Haute Biotch deal (USD 70/RM250), which gives you a blow dry and one makeup application session to really knock your new man’s socks off.
Duck & Dry, London
Not to be left behind, London has also sprouted several fantastic blow dry bars – one of those being Duck & Dry, along King’s Road. An extensive menu offers plenty of styling options, from the smooth and bouncy Classic Duck to the vampish Side Cascade (GBP 28/RM 156 for all signature styles). Don’t miss their incredible updos, either – they’re happy to give you the perfect bun, ponytail or braid to give your day (or evening) the boost it needs. Actually, the in-house prosecco bar should take care of that already, to be honest…
Dry & Tea, Auckland
Tucked away in New Zealand, would you believe, is the adorable, retro-inspired Dry & Tea. Part blow dry bar and part tea house, you can sip a de-stressing cup of Harney & Sons or T2 tea (pomegranate oolong for us, please!) while you choose between a sleek, poker-straight Milan, an ultra-wild Rio Carnival, or a Game of Thrones-esque Quick Braid – just three of their signature looks (a Blow Wave or a Quick Pony/Braid/Bun starts from NZD 45/RM 120). Clearly, the girls down under are on top of their blow out game!
