Premiere-ready: How to get Emily Blunt’s effortless bohemian look

The English actress recently graced the Los Angeles premiere of ‘The Huntsman: Winter’s War’ in a beautiful Valentino gown complemented by an effortless bohemian makeup look courtesy of Jenn Streicher, celebrity makeup artist for Laura Mercier. On her inspiration for the look, Streicher says: “I wanted everything to look very soft—no hard lines—just very fluid and flowy.” Here, she shares her tips and tricks to creating the #redcarpet look:

Step 1: Prep the skin

Streicher starts by prepping Emily Blunt’s skin with Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream, followed by the application of Kate Somerville Goat Milk De-Puffing Eye Balm, which helps replenish and hydrate the eye area.

Step 2: Face

First, Streicher applies Laura Mercier Primer – Radiance to Blunt’s T-zone to give her a tinge of shine. To achieve a soft, glowing complexion, she used the new Laura Mercier Candleglow Soft Luminous Foundation in Linen. Then, she warms Blunt’s skin with Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Shade 3.  As a final touch to the face, the Dior DiorBlush Vibrant Colour Powder Blush in Lucky Pink is swept onto the apples of her cheeks.

Expert’s tip: The Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder can also be brushed onto the decollate and shoulders, lightly illuminating the area and leaving skin looking radiant.

Step 3: Eyes

In line with the effortless vibes she was going for, Streicher wanted Blunt’s eyes to look “very pretty but super basic”. She started off by applying Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Grey Pearl all over the eyelid up into the crease. Next, she applied Laura Mercier Matte Eye Colour in Fresco into her crease—a nude shade with a slight peach undertone that warms up the Grey Pearl hue nicely.

Lashes are then accentuated using Laura Mercier Faux Lash Mascara in Black. As the last step for the eyes, she applies the Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil in Ash.

Step 4: Lips

Finally, Streicher completes the look with a mixture of Laura Mercier Velour Lovers Lip Colour in Infatuation and Embrace, creating the perfect lip hue for Blunt’s effortless bohemian look.
