#HairTrend: The 5 best bobs of all time

Flattering and versatile, it’s safe to say that the bob is one of the best hairstyles of all time. When you’ve found a bob that fits your face the best, it’s hard to go back to growing out your tresses. We look to style icons and celebs for the some of the best short ‘dos around town.

1. The tousled bob

She’s a journalist, a TV host, and a model, is there anything fashion muse Alexa Chung can’t do? Oh, and she rocks the tousled bob with ease too. We love how her beautiful 70s-inspired messy hairdo is accompanied with a parted fringe here.

2. The sleek bob

Sleek and absolutely chic, this sophisticated version of the bob is one that will fit any occasion. It looks amazing on its own, but is made that much better with blunt bangs that will draw attention to your eyes, as shown by the lovely Rose Byrne here.

3. The ‘lob’

If you’re apprehensive about chopping off all your long locks at one go, try out the lob as its length is the perfect in-between. Rosie Hungtington-Whiteley shows us how the lob, or better known as the long bob, is done. Her wavy side-swept style is accompanied by a whole lot of texture with longer layers worked in for added volume.

4. The choppy bob

The choppy bob is a great way to show off a fresh new look. Emma Stone took to the Venice Film Festival to showcase her choppy new bob and we love how the soft, slightly tousled style (along with the vibrant red hue) complements her gorgeous emerald Valentino couture gown perfectly.

5. The asymmetrical bob

Made popular by Victoria Beckham and Rihanna circa 2007, the asymmetrical bob has been reinterpretated by fellow celebs and starlets alike. From scarlet crops to Mohawk, Rihanna is famed for her ever-changing hairstyles. This angled do is sleek and bold, with an alluring air of feminine charm that suits her pixie face wonderfully.
