Ezra Miller fronts Urban Decay’s latest campaign
Urban Decay jumps on the Pride Month bandwagon by showing some love for the LGBTQ+ community with the ‘Pretty Different campaign. Fronted by “a collective of trailblazers who refuse to accept forced standards and instead champion uniqueness”, this group of movers and shakers include actor Ezra Miller, singer Lizzo, actress Joey King and more. “I grew up with two older sisters. We would all do our makeup together. I really liked when people would mistake us for three sisters,” says Miller. Kylie Minogue wins the Kylie trademark battle and launches a makeup range
The OG Kylie—before overlined lips (and lip fillers) became synonymous with that name—is making a statement in the beauty scene. Iconic singer Kylie Minogue has recently launched a makeup range also named Kylie. On Minogue’s website under the ‘Makeup‘ category is a range of cosmetics including lip oils, eye and cheek glitters, single-coloured eyeshadows and more. Charlotte Tilbury names her lipstick collection after J.K. Rowling, Amal Clooney, etc
English makeup maestro Charlotte Tilbury launches her second Hot Lips lipstick collection (aptly named Hot Lips 2), inspired once more by 11 men and women including J.K. Rowling, Amal Clooney, Kylie Minogue, Susan Sarandon and more. Five of the lipstick bullet cases were designed exclusively by Tilbury herself, and it marks the first time that the Hot Lips collection will be available in refillable cases. Tilbury also launches her first Lipstick Conditioner under this collection that reportedly helps moisturise lips for up to 12 hours.
Zendaya’s first Lâncome campaign is out
Five months after signing up as Lâncome’s global ambassador role, Disney alum and Spider-Man actress Zendaya officially debuts her first campaign for the brand’s newest fragrance launch, Idôle. Developed sustainably and marketed for “millennial women”, Idôle uses sustainably-sourced rose petals from Turkey and very little glass for the bottle—it is reportedly one of the most slender in the world. Made by women for women, the fragrance has been termed a “power totem” and the new symbol of the next generation. Lâncome has more plans down the pipeline for their ambassador, with makeup and skincare lines to be fronted by Zendaya in the long run.
Estée Lauder bans animal testing
Cosmetics conglomerate The Estée Lauder Companies is making an effort to put a stop to animal testing. Recently announcing its support of Human Society International’s #BeCrueltyFree campaign, the beauty giant’s effort is the largest in history to boycott global animal testing in the beauty industry. Esteé Lauder has a multitude of brands under its portfolio, such as Bobbi Brown, Jo Malone London, Tom Ford Beauty, La Mer etc and is available in more than 150 countries nationwide. “We are proud to partner with Humane Society International, an organisation that has done such thoughtful work advocating for animals everywhere. They have been a wonderful partner and advisor as we work together towards our common goal to bring an end to cosmetic animal testing worldwide,” says Anna Klein, senior vice president of Global Corporate Affairs for The Estée Lauder Companies.

Hilary Duff gets mum-shamed over piercing her baby daughter’s ears
#FirstWorldProblems get on a whole new level with Hilary Duff’s latest Instagram post that has garnered naysayers who are flaming the mother-of-two for piercing her eight-month-old daughter’s ears. Haters who commented on her post have reportedly compared it to male circumcision, while others are “unfollowing” the teen idol for “child abuse”. Some of her supporters have backed her up, stating that piercing babies’ ears is a tradition in many cultures and that Duff doesn’t need justification when it comes to making decisions for her daughter.
