Chanel reimagines the perfect red lipstick with the Numéros Rouges collection

Chanel’s quintessential range of red lipsticks get an update this season with a new tagline in tow: “Rouge pour la vie“, or “red for life”. Taking the motto to heart, Chanel’s Global Creative Make-up and Colour Director Lucia Pica has created a line of lipsticks titled Numéros Rouges under the Collection Libré 2017 that are wearable for everyday, yet each hue stands out on its own. If you’re still on the hunt for that perfect red, you might just be able to score from this collection.

Playing on the paradox of an intense yet effortless look, the lipsticks come in different undertones to complement different skin tones. The beauty lies in each red’s versatility—yet all can be classics depending on your preference. Those who prefer a glossy finish can opt for the Rouge Coco Gloss that comes in a vivid coral and sultry red.

“You can still wear red even if you’re not a bold red girl: the key is not to be overly precise. With the red lipsticks in the Numéros Rouges Collection, you can also dab the color on with your fingertips, or for a more relaxed approach to glamour, apply from the tube then subtly blend the edges with your fingertips,” says Pica.

Alongside the lipsticks, the collection also boasts four new eye makeup products to add depth and dimension to your overall beauty look. Layer your eyelids with shades of platinum ivory, emerald green and deep plum, and smoke it out with the creamy Ombre Première in a chic khaki hue. Complete your look with the Stylo Yeux Waterproof that comes in a flattering deep green along with a swipe of mascara courtesy of Le Volume de Chanel in burgundy.
