Camouflage Makeup – It’s Not Just For The Military

In the name of beauty, Burberry, we salute you – it’s not an easy task bringing camouflage back into the fold (think of all those camo-print cargo pants from the 90s) – yet here it is, proudly displayed in khaki green, nude and black, in the Limited Edition Burberry Autumn/Winter 2015 Runway Palette, RM 190. Not only does it mirror the deep, dignified shades seen on pieces from Burberry’s recent ‘Patchwork, Patterns & Prints’ womenswear collection, but as Burberry Make-up’s Artistic Consultant, Wendy Rowe, puts it: “The Autumn/Winter 2015 make-up look is all about the eyes – we created a modern, romantic veil of colour on the eyes inspired by natural tones.”

Against the smokey-eyed mystery of this season’s look, the complexion has a warm, matte finish – set off to impressive effect by the Burberry Face Contour, Effortless Contouring Pen for Face and Eyes, RM 125, which elongates eyes, and sculpts cheekbones and jawlines to achieve an elegant, quintessentially British aesthetic of natural beauty.

Lips, too, are understatedly sexy, with the sheerest hint of colour: the Burberry First Kiss – Fresh Gloss Lip Balm, RM85, comes in five delightful shades, hydrating the lips and giving them a butter-soft, youthful look. Boho chic, here we come.
