8 Gorgeous beauty looks from the 2023 Golden Globes that we loved

The Golden Globes’ red carpet has set the bar high for 2023’s award season. Find our favourite beauty looks below.

This year’s award season is off to a strong start with the 2023 Golden Globes. The red carpet was filled with Hollywood’s best and brightest, and they came with the beauty looks to match.

From Rihanna’s sculptural hairdo to Jenna Ortega’s big departure from her Wednesday character, there was no shortage of looks to inspire. Ahead, find our picks for the cream of the crop (and find the expert-backed secrets behind some of the red carpet stunners, too!):

Jenna Ortega

The Wednesday star has made a departure from her namesake character’s signature monochrome, replacing her gothic edge with Tiffany diamonds and a Gucci gown. However, what really caught our eye was her brand new auburn lob, paired with an accented double wing. The look is a winner!

She may have missed the red carpet, but Rihanna did not miss with this look. Keeping her makeup fairly simple, her sculptural curls were the highlight of this beauty ensemble.

Emma D’Arcy

The crying girl aesthetic got an edgy update with Emma D’Arcy, who took to the red carpet with brow slits, a cropped indigo pixie and matching blue glitter tears.

Margot Robbie

Fresh-faced beauty has never looked easier than it does on Barbie star Margot Robbie. Rouged cheeks, a berry lip and effortless waves are the perfect combo for the actress. We love the pared-back look!

Selena Gomez

Bleached brows may be making their way into our current beauty zeitgeist, but Selena Gomez isn’t done with the bold brow movement that dominated the last decade. Pair that with a high-to-the-heavens pony and you’ve got a look that’s equal parts polished and youthful.

Michelle Yeoh

Now better known as Malaysia’s first Golden Globes Award winner (and all-time national treasure), Michelle Yeoh stunned on the red carpet with her waist-length, balayaged locks.

The secret to her sleek strands? According to hairstylist Robert Vetica, a combination of the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer and Corrale Straightener is what made the look.

Lily James

Lily James stunned with this Hollywood-meets-’90s-inspired look. While the nude lip and shimmery lids are certainly a pretty sight, the real showstopper was the bombshell lob. Voluminous and side-parted, hairstylist Halley Brisker used tape-in extensions to add volume in the front and achieve that signature ‘lick’.

Meg Stalter

Comedian Meg Stalter channelled the ’90s in full force for the red carpet, sporting this polished updo of ringlets.
