The MTV VMAs is notorious for its daring fashion moments, but the beauty looks from this year’s red carpet are what really stood out to us. Chappell Roan’s Joan of Arc-inspired look and Anitta’s bleached brows are among the 12 standout beauty moments from the red carpet.

Lisa

Lisa does what she does best, and that’s serving up equal parts flirty and girly. The Blackpink star’s rosy-pink blush and mauve lips were the perfect complement to her dreamy eye makeup, and her glossy bangs framed her face and highlighted her eyes beautifully.

Chappell Roan

Chappell Roan opted to embrace a more simplistic look than we’re used to seeing from her, but the understated gothic, dark glamour paired with her fiery red hair was the perfect look for her VMAs red carpet debut. Plus, the intricate, Joan of Arc-inspired half-updo was just the cherry on top of an already striking look.

The ‘Taste’ singer and blossoming pop icon paid homage to another enduring pop queen with her archival Bob Mackie gown. Channeling Madonna’s look at the 1991 Oscars, Carpenter stunned with her signature draped blush, frosted lids and a striking red lip. Our favourite detail? Her stunning bedazzled manicure!

Taylor returned to her signature beauty style with her iconic red lips and classic winged eyeliner. Her hair was styled in soft waves that framed her face, creating an effortlessly elegant look that went with her muted red lip and smoky eye makeup. The Reputation singer’s edgy glam exuded confidence, proving once again why she’s a red-carpet favourite.
