Thinking of rocking your bush in all its glory? Here’s how to keep things under control down there.
If you’ve been online in the last 24 hours, you’ll have seen the latest creation (or, rather, abomination) from Skims: the pube thong. My first thought upon seeing the undergarment was, simply, “Why would I buy a bush when I can have one, homemade, for free?”. I digress.
Whether your bush is homegrown or store-bought, one thing’s for sure—the bush is back in full force, and we’re here to guide you through the thicket. There are actually so many advantages to rocking a full bush.
For starters, your chances of ingrown hairs and friction irritation basically become non-existent with a well-groomed bush. Then, of course, there’s the benefit of not having to shave or wax… ever!
Either way, if you’re keen on going au naturale, we’ve got just the guide for you. Ahead, find out how you can rock your pubes in their natural state without compromising on cleanliness or comfort:

TIP #1: Make sure you’re scheduling your bush for regular trims
A full bush doesn’t necessarily have to be an unruly bush. Ideally, you’ll want to schedule your bush for regular trims every three to four weeks. Why? Take it from us—the longer your pubes, the harder it is to tame. And, the more it catches on to everything!
All you really need is a pair of scissors, but if your tool of choice is a trimmer, go for it! The goal is really just to neaten up the hedges and keep them in shape. However, for those with fields that sprawl far and wide (read: over, under, and out of your panty line), you can opt for bikini waxes and Brazilians to shape your bush to your liking. In fact, why not experiment with designs? Just a suggestion…

TIP #2: Make sure to cleanse your bush thoroughly
It needs to be said: Pubic hair isn’t inherently unclean. However, having hair down there does mean that dirt and sweat are more likely to stick around, especially given the larger surface area. Fortunately, there’s a simple solution—just make sure you’re thoroughly cleansing the area with a mild soap and water once a day.
And, if you’re particularly follicular in hard-to-reach areas like the bum crack, use a bidet to power wash your nethers after every number two. It’s that simple! Alternatively, keep your problem areas waxed or lasered for your convenience.
TIP #3: Don’t forget to exfoliate within and around the bush
With all the hair in the way, it can be easy to forget to exfoliate. However, just like any other part of your body, exfoliation is key to healthy skin. That said, it’s important to make sure that you’re adapting your exfoliation routine for the delicate groin area.
Stick to unscented and gentle exfoliators, and use them once or twice a week at most. This should help prevent ingrown hairs and keep odours at bay.

TIP #4: Don’t forget to condition your bush
In the same way that your hair needs hair oil to stay smooth, soft, and shiny, your pubes also need nourishment. Not only can a little conditioning oil go a long way in making your bush more manageable, but it can also help to soothe irritation around the delicate pubic area.
Plain shea butter, jojoba oil, and vitamin E are all great options, but there are also specially-crafted oil blends made for your nethers.
TIP #5: Avoid suffocating your bush
Believe it or not, the last thing you want to do is suffocate your groin—especially now that it’s wearing a sweater 24/7. Keep your trousers light, loose, and airy as much as you can, and opt for cotton underwear over synthetic fabrics. This keeps your groin dry and prevents irritation and potential yeast infection.
