Broga: Yoga for bros

If you ever find yourself wanting to join a yoga class, but held back by a sense of apprehension because you are embarrassed you can’t touch your toes, or find the slow and calm vibes overbearing, Broga might just be the solution for you. A rugged take on the ancient spiritual discipline, Broga is rooted in Vinyasa yoga. It combines the best core-strengthening, muscle-toning, cardio-working, stress-reducing and clarity-enhancing yoga postures with functional fitness for a thumping workout. Instead of practising in calm, spiritual sounds or silence, you’ll be working out to the likes of The Black Keys and Led Zeppelin. Although it seems to be a sharp veer away from a traditional yoga class, it retains the same core elements in placing utmost importance on breathing and mindfulness.

As of now, only Aravind Yoga Studio runs Broga classes here from time to time,  but if you want to get a head start on your own, the Broga YouTube channel is pretty helpful.
