Thick, blunt bangs
Slicked back hairdos and quiffs as high as the sky can take a backseat this season to make way for the blunt bang. Whether all straight or slightly layered, thick bangs that graze the eyebrows (or eyes if you don’t mind a few strands blocking your vision) coupled with a shorter, clean-cut back and sides are the latest ‘do to sport, demonstrated at Damir Doma, Dries Van Noten, and Dior Homme respectively.
The curtain fringe
But if you aren’t a fan of the above-mentioned hairstyle no thanks to unnecessary eyeball prodding, go with a centre-parted fringe in tribute to the late ’90s/early 2000s. Yes, the curtains are back with a bang (pun intended). Go with a shorter cut as seen at Dior Homme and Off White, or channel a retro-inspired look with round glasses and longer ends as spotted at Fendi.
The longer curtain
While you’re on the ’90s trendwagon, it’s now deemed fashionable to sport the mid-length centre-parted look, be it wavy or straight. The next time you’re about to snip off some length, consider growing it out for a laidback, grungy vibe—as seen at Damir Doma, Etro, and N°21. Calling all Kurt Cobain fans—this one’s up your alley.
The mussed, (intentionally) windswept look
Pulling off the tousled, just-got-out-of-bed look seen at Yohji Yamamoto, Vivienne Westwood, and Etro can be tricky—you might steer to ‘unwashed/greasy’ territory if you aren’t careful. The key to doing this style right is 1) not to go overboard with volume and, 2) blowing it dry in different directions. Second-day hair works best for this hairdo, so cooperate with your hair texture with enough product to make sure the disheveled effect stays throughout the day.
