Cannes Film Festival 2026: The Best Red Carpet Looks

The red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival has been in constant motion this past week, delivering one arresting look after another. From sculptural couture statements and archival references to sleek monochrome dressing, there is a strong line-up of moments worth returning to.

Bella Hadid sits at the centre of that conversation, moving between modern precision and vintage-inspired glamour. She first appears in a sculptural grey satin Prada silhouette, paired with a bomber-style cape. In a separate appearance, she wears an ivory Schiaparelli gown in trompe-l’œil lace embroidery, paying homage to Jane Birkin’s 1969 Cannes look.

Black remains one of the most enduring style codes, and this year, few interpretations feel as precise as those seen through Tom Ford. Cara Delevingne, Malgosia Bela and Milena Smit work body-skimming silhouettes that strip everything back to line and construction. Nothing ornamental, nothing excessive—just cut, control, and that familiar Tom Ford tension between restraint and allure.

Bold colour emerges as a deliberate counterpoint to the dominance of black and neutrals. Demi Moore leans into hot pink silk by Matières Fécales, while Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu and Ruth Negga push colour through purple Saint Laurent and green satin fringe by Dior.

A softer, more romantic mood also runs through the red carpet. Barbara Palvin appears in a feathered pale blue Miu Miu gown alongside Cole Sprouse in Giorgio Armani, while Taylor Russell follows in a white bustier silhouette by Dior. Alexa Chung opts for a light blue satin dress embroidered with organza florals, also from Dior.

Elsewhere, Sharon Stone steps out in an embroidered black Miss Sohee gown, detailed with a midnight wisteria landscape and finished with an opera cape. Cate Blanchett brings another standout moment in Givenchy, wearing a floral thread-embroidered halter-neck dress, complete with Bonbon gloves.

Asian stars also make a strong impression this year. Gemini Norawit makes his debut in a Giorgio Armani suit, while Rebecca Armstrong arrives in a sculpted black gown by Sophie Couture. Simone Ashley revisits a vintage red Alexander McQueen dress previously worn by Gisele Bündchen at the Met Gala.
