Another awards season is now in the rearview mirror. In a night that brought cinema’s biggest names under one roof, the 98th annual Academy Awards put an end to the months-long speculations over the Best Picture race, crowning Paul Thomas Anderson’s action-thriller One Battle After Another. But the gold statuette wasn’t the only thing that captured the world’s attention. The spectacular watches and jewellery pieces lighting up the Dolby Theatre, too, turned more than a few heads at the ceremony.

Jessie Buckley of Hamnet, for starters, made a memorable appearance in her Chanel ensemble. The Irish actress collected her Oscar for Best Actress in a remarkable N°5 necklace and Camélia diamond earrings. Fellow nominee Kate Hudson also dazzled the red carpet with a bespoke Garatti necklace featuring a 16-carat Fancy Green diamond. The Song Sung Blue lead paired the pièce de résistance with a diamond ring and earrings.

Another winning look came from Anne Hathaway. Giving the audience a taste of her incoming press tour, the The Devil Wears Prada 2 star wore the jaw-dropping Neoclassical Starlight necklace from Eclettica, the new high jewellery collection by Bvlgari. She completed her look with Daphne’s Laurel earrings. Matching this energy beat for beat, Teyana Taylor showed up in exquisite Tiffany & Co. diamond necklace, rings, and earrings.

Aware of the standard that had been set that evening, the men at the ceremony did not come to play either, with many upping their wrist game. Michael B. Jordan, who claimed the Best Actor hardware for his performance in Sinners, made the old new again with the vintage Piaget Protocole watch. His fiercest competitor, Timothée Chalamet of Marty Supreme, exuded the same understated elegance vibes with Urban Jürgensen’s UJ-2.

Elsewhere, attendees embodied the theatrical nature of filmmaking with flashy timepieces. Chopard’s L’Heure du Diamant on Shaboozey was among the standouts. Channelling extravagance in their own way, Kieran Culkin stunned in his Hublot Classic Fusion Chronograph King Gold and Leonardo DiCaprio in the Rolex 1908. The latter was especially noteworthy as the watch boasts an ice blue dial with a guilloché rice-grain motif.
