30 Thoughts I Had While Watching ‘Legacy 30 Siti Nurhaliza’

What a night! Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza continues to assert her dominance in the music industry with ‘Legacy 30 Siti Nurhaliza’. Held at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, the three-hour spectacle drew 65,000 fans from all over the region and beyond, making it one of the highest-attended solo concerts at the venue of all time. The 47-year-old songbird belted a number of iconic tunes from her celebrated discography—Purnama Merindu to Nirmala—and was joined onstage by her previous collaborators like Noh Salleh, Hafiz Suip, Umairah, and Indonesia’s Cakra Khan.

If you missed the chance to sing, dance, and cry at the showcase, fret not, I was there to witness it all. I captured every thought I had during the concert below, so you too can hop on this emotional roller coaster.

1. Um, the stage looks quite small. I thought it would be as innovative as the one at her 2001 concert at Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil (now Axiata Arena), since this concert is to mark her three-decade milestone and all.

2. But the lighting is electrifying. The razor-sharp lasers and dynamic light designs elevate the performances, turning them into a fully immersive visual experience.

3. Uh oh, did she miss her cue? (Dialah Di Hati)

4. This new arrangement of Falling in Love sounds… tame. We were robbed of Siti’s (only) club anthem!

5. The choreography for Destinasi Cinta. Look at her go!

6. Holy vocals.

7. The fashion is fashioning. That pink dress with rose cape and feather details is giving me life.

8. Face card goes hard.

9. Why is Biarlah Rahsia part of a medley? It’s an integral part of her professional and personal journey. Transkripsi was an era!

10. Is it just me, or is her microphone too low?

11. Maybe some nepo babies are worth supporting. Look at how Umairah ate Hati Kama up! She’s really holding her own.

12. It would’ve been nice to see her reunited with Noraniza Idris. Oh well.

13. Okay, her mic is definitely too low. How is Cakra Khan coming through so much clearer?

14. Go off, Cakra! (Dirgahayu and Seluruh Cinta)

15. Um, did she miss her cue again? (Aku Cinta Padamu)

16. Maybe she’s nervous being so high up on that crane.

17. What an adrenaline-fuelled setlist!

18. There are fans flying in all the way from Portugal? Her power.

19. Thank god for these ballads (Seribu Kemanisan and Kesilapanku, Keegoaanmu). I can actually savour her sparkling vocals.

20. Hearing tens of thousands of fans singing the lyrics back to her—what an incredible moment.

21. This career-in-review montage is giving me the feels. I have actually followed her career trajectory since I was a literal child. How time flies.

22. Oh, it’s the traditional songs segment!

23. Not her jumping onto the stage and serving face. Siti Motherliza did the thing.

24. Kesuma as an opener is a galaxy brain move. The choreo! The costume! The Juara Lagu-ness of it all!

25. I hope Aisha Retno is here to see this.

26. The whole stadium is up on their feet for Balqis, Cindai, and Nirmala—as they should.

27. How is she not out of breath right now? Because I am.

28. So many celebrities in attendance: Hael Husaini, Dayang Nurfaizah, Awal Ashaari, Scha Alyahya, Mimi Fly, and Aina Abdul!

29. Oh, she’s announcing another concert happening this year. A boss.

30. Happy birthday, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza!
