Just in: Jonathan Saunders exits Diane von Furstenberg as its chief creative officer

Just days after it was announced that Diane was planning to sell a stake in her company, it has been revealed that Jonathan Saunders has resigned from his role as the chief creative officer of the brand, and the Pre-Fall 2017 collection (which was launched earlier this month) will be his last. No successor has been named for now, but previously, Jonathan was in charge of many facets of the brand, from overseeing all the product categories, and store and web design, to marketing including advertising campaigns.

In a statement published on Business of Fashion, Jonathan says, “I am grateful for Diane’s support and for the opportunity of guiding this iconic brand. I am so proud of everything we have accomplished in the past 18 months. I thank the incredible team for their dedication and support, and will continue to be a friend and admirer of the brand.”

“I am so thankful for Jonathan’s beautiful work and the effort and dedication he has put into DVF in the last 18 months. He will leave an important and lasting heritage to the brand.” — Diane von Furstenberg.
