Paperholm: A growing paper city in motion

Quaint art

Paperholm: A growing paper city in motion
A daily project by artist Charles Young

Charles Young began the 'Paperholm' project back in August 2014—a daily project where he creates a mini paper city using 200gsm watercolour paper and PVA glue. Each day, he designs, makes, photographs and uploads one new object. Adding to the quaintness of his work, he animates little details to the paper city and shares them on his website.

He hit pause on the project after one year of daily additions which created the first large island, but he picked it up again in November last year, constructing a series of five new mini islands. The islands are pieced together as a constructed archipelago, and is now on exhibit for the first time at the NEoN Digital Arts Festival in Dundee, Scotland.
