Tried and Tested: Dior’s three best-selling cushion compacts

Looking for a brand new cushion compact that leaves an au naturel finish sans the cakiness of a foundation? Consider Dior’s excellent range of cushion compacts for the above-mentioned plus point, along with a weightless texture that almost feels like nothing on your skin. This week, I incorporated Dior’s Bloom Perfect Brightening Perfect Moist Cushion, Capture Totale Dreamskin Perfect Skin Cushion, and the latest Diorskin Forever Perfect Cushion in my beauty routine to find out pros and cons of these handy compacts. Scroll down to find out which made the cut:

Diorsnow Bloom Perfect Brightening Perfect Moist Cushion SPF50 PA+++

Diorsnow Bloom Perfect Brightening Perfect Moist Cushion SPF50 PA+++ is the first moist skincare cushion from the house, and as per the description, this cushion foundation has an ultra moist, lightweight texture upon application, leaving a faint fragrance that isn’t overwhelming as well. While it didn’t completely cover up my dark circles, the foundation is actually buildable and didn’t leave a cakey finish. A plus is the SPF50 PA+++ that allowed me to omit my usual sunscreen—I got a really dewy finish thanks to its luminosity, so I’d recommend this cushion for those with dry to normal skin, and perhaps a dusting of Diorskin Forever and Ever Loose Control Powder for those with oily and combination skin.

Dior Capture Totale Dreamskin Perfect Skin Cushion

One thing to note about the Dreamskin Perfect Skin Cushion is that it isn’t a foundation, but more of a skincare product that’s very similar to tinted moisturiser but with a host of benefits. This cushion isn’t as moist as the Bloom Perfect Brightening Perfect Moist Cushion, but does leave a slightly dewy finish on my skin. This is my pick for off days (read: going out sans foundation) where I want my skin to still look natural and even-toned without the redness and dry patches. Its coverage is quite sheer, and it gave my skin a glow instead of a greasy look even as I was out and about on a particular hot day.

Diorskin Forever Perfect Cushion

The Diorskin Forever Perfect Cushion is the least moist among these three compacts, along with a light to medium coverage that’s rather easy to build. If I had to pick between dewy or matte look, I’d say the latter flatters my complexion more so—or maybe because I am quite prone to getting the mid-day shine if I skip mattifying powder in my routine. This is my favourite cushion compact from the three, firstly for its “luminous matte” finish, and also because I noticed that it managed to minimise the appearance of pores around my nose area. Again, its coverage is buildable (I’m starting to think it’s a Dior cushion compact trait), so if you want a completely flawless finish, I’d say layer on Diorskin Forever Fluid Foundation after patting this on. Its staying power after 12 hours without any touch-ups garnered it extra brownie points in my books.
