Jennie Serves Up the Secrets to Living Large in ‘ExtraL’
Pop off queen

Everybody, stop whatever you’re doing now. Jennie just dropped new music and it’s serving the C-word. Teaming up with American rapper Doechii, the singer delivers the girl boss anthem of the season with ‘ExtraL’, the third single from her forthcoming debut solo album Ruby. The music video that comes in tow does not disappoint. From matching ivory pantsuits to the lavender-leathered droid, the visuals here match the firecracker verses. Jennie’s jewellery selection, in particular, stole the show.
Ahead, we list all the jewellery moments from the music video that caught our attention.
LET HER GRILL
The nineties are back and better than ever—the flashy dental jewellery gets a minimalist shout-out in the video. Jennie’s XL grills make a statement from the get-go as the music video opens with a shot of the singer flashing a cheeky smile, exposing her gold fronts.
RING THE ALARM
Being the trendsetter that she is, Jennie disregards the user manual and gives the rings a playful twist. Here, the Blackpink member casually tucks the pieces inside her face-framing braids, giving the video an air of modern bohemia.
BODY-ODY-ODY
Body jewellery may not have the same sense of novelty as the others, but Jennie manages to make it feel brand new. Watch the waist chain trend take off in the next few months when Blackpink’s international tour kicks off—you heard it here first.
FEELING HOOPY
Long regarded as a symbol of strength for the wholeness of their circular shape, the hoop earrings are made even more radical in the ‘ExtraL’ music video. The pair on Doechii turns the classic design on its head with gold spikes embellishing the curves of the earrings.
IN A CHOKEHOLD
Not a fan of chunky collar necklaces? Tough luck. This statement piece is not going anywhere. Adding a touch of mystery to the video, Jennie sports a textural gold piece with an evil eye-esque pendant. We’ll take it as a warning not to miss the album drop come 7 March.
