Love was in the air! Welcoming the arrival of Valentine’s Day and Chinese New Year, GOLDHEART and BURO Malaysia joined hands for an exclusive luncheon at Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur’s Thirty8, aptly dubbed ‘In the Mood for Love’. The intimate get-together drew eight power couples and Friends of BURO, including Alexis SueAnn and Marcin Wojtkowiak, Carey Ng and Roen Cian, as well as Sarah Lian and Khoo Teng Leang.

Emcee Wenanita Angang kicked off the event with a lighthearted banter and subsequently handed the microphone over to BURO’s editor-in-chief, Jason Lim, who delivered a heartfelt opening speech. He then ceded the floor to Tomei’s head of group marketing, Lam Kok Wah, for a brief introduction to GOLDHEART. Buzzing with excitement, the attendees were soon escorted to a designated area for the yee sang tossing ceremony and treated to a six-course reunion lunch.

Feeling refreshed after indulging in some oriental classics, the guests redirected their focus to the exquisite jewellery before them. GOLDHEART’s Valentine’s Day series, for starters, prompted a collective charmed reaction. The Ethereal Glow ring in 18K rose gold with diamonds was particularly noteworthy for its sinuous silhouette. The Celestia’s Embrace earrings in 18K white gold and diamonds also made an impression with their symbolic heart-shaped motifs.

The atmosphere in the room once again shifted as GOLDHEART brought out its Chinese New Year offerings. Crafted as modern talismans, the pieces here tell a tale of prosperity and the promise of radiant moments. The 18K rose gold Velvet Nocturne bangle, for instance, features a floral design embellished with the auspicious red of rubies and diamonds. Meanwhile, the Eternal Whispers earrings in 18K white gold offer versatility with a choice of rubies or sapphires.

Intended to strengthen the connection between lovers and start a new one with each other, the event moved forward with an interactive maker’s session. Visual artist Limzy led the programme with expertise as she guided the guests through the process. Here, the couples were given tools like fresh flowers and watercolour sets to personalise their own ‘tuanshan’ or round fan. They also had the opportunity to express appreciation for their partners via a love note.

Surrounded by shareable moments—from the dazzling jewellery to delectable cuisines, the jovial company dressed in stylish eastern flair to the city skyline as the backdrop—guests were quick to take the experience to social media. Getting into the spirit of the season, GOLDHEART announced a surprise giveaway, promising the guest with the most creative post a special prize. Sarah Lian ultimately came out on top and walked away with a delicate pearl necklace.

As the event came to a close, guests were delighted with parting gifts that added a personal touch to the celebration. Each of them received a beautifully crafted travel jewellery pouch, accompanied by a stunning red packet, serving as a thoughtful token of appreciation for participating in the joyous occasion. Laughter and bittersweet goodbyes lingered in the air as everyone departed for their next destinations, carrying the happiness of the afternoon with them.
