Taking its name from the north-eastern Mediterranean wind, the Italian brand has created a long tradition of naming its cars after famous winds of the world. Beginning in 1963 with the legendary Mistral, followed by Ghibli,
Bora, Khamsin, and the first SUV in the Trident brand's history—the Levante in 2016. The new Grecale SUV plays a major role in the Maserati range, bringing together a thrill of luxury, pure innovation, versatility, and exceptional
performance that results in the perfect balance to your daily routine. This is a unique car with stylish lines of character and the highest refinement of quality materials in its interiors.
The Maserati Grecale
The exterior of the Grecale takes on a vertical aspect, which is an inspiration from the MC20 super sports car, adapted for the requirements of an SUV. The signature grille framing the new Maserati Trident in the front is the model's
most distinctive element—low and imposing without being excessive. The modernised oval logo at the top is a sign of Maserati's new era. Triple side air vents have been an essential element in Maserati designs since 1947, and
in the Grecale they go with the trim version names: GT, Modena or Trofeo. The Grecale's headlights perfectly fit with its body shape, utilising LED technology with a signature design derived from the Maserati MC20. The car's
sleek and fluid profile includes flush door handles with new Trident-inspired alloy wheels.
In the rear, the boomerang-shaped taillights take on a sporty trapezoidal appearance, integrating seamlessly with the Grecale's
clean lines across the entire car. The striking coupé effect of the cabin with sleek rear windows finishes like a sports car with solid and bold wings. In the lower region, its technical components include the use of carbon
fibre, while the newly designed exhaust visually describes the roar of the Maserati sound.
In the Modena and Trofeo versions, the Grecale takes on a more dynamic and sporty character with a rear wheel track augmented
by 34mm, side skirts, chromatic detailing and specially designed bumpers.
The Grecale's interior is inspired by the concept of clean, modern and emotive design devoted to functionality whilst leaving room for technology. Beyond its doors is a world of comfort and style, made possible by the use of prestigious
materials reinterpreting Italian craftsmanship, inspired by the brand's roots and traditions.
Best-in-class for spaciousness, especially in the rear cabin, legroom and trunk, the Grecale delivers functional design with
contemporary beauty, created exquisitely through characteristic Maserati style.
The SUV comes with no less than four screens—the classic cluster, the new central 12.3-inch panel, a smaller 8.8-inch comfort panel and
a 6.5-inch rear touch screen for backseat passengers. The technology of moving control panel buttons to these screens leaves room for a larger armrest and storage compartments with butterfly doors and a mobile phone charging
area. The dashboard is made using lush Saffiano leather.
Aesthetically, tremendous attention to detail has been paid to design cues, such as the laser-cut metal grilles for the new Sonus faber sound system's tweeters and speakers, the chrome-plated finish of the digital smart clock,
the central air vents and the drive mode selector. Another design cue is represented by the light emanating behind the central display, producing a "living room" effect by using soft, diffused lighting.
The quest for
colours and excellent materials that reflect the Italian-made Maserati identity combines the uniqueness of country and spirit. From this perspective of stylistic research comes the three Grecale trim levels (GT, Modena and
Trofeo), designed not only to satisfy different drivers but also to better express the differing overarching themes of the new Maserati SUV.
Enriched with technical specifications, the Grecale cabin houses the first digital clock in the Trident brand's history. It not only tells time but is a genuine driver-car interface that emits a response signal every time it receives
a voice command. It can even function as a compass or a G-force metre when required.
Nearly everything in the cabin is touch-controlled, with front screen panels positioned ergonomically for the driver to view and utilise
with ease. The Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA)multimedia system within the 12.3-inch screen has a resolution of 15 million pixels in Ultra HD, the largest ever made in a Maserati.
Providing a simple and intuitive customisable user experience, MIA uses the Android Auto operating system to ensure high responsiveness that can be configured for quick access to frequently used functions. The Android Auto operating
system makes further customisation possible by storing up to five user profiles. Customers can build their profile with personal details, including music preferences and vehicle operation functions. The system also links other
vehicle settings to the driver's profile, such as temperature and seat or mirror positioning. Maserati Connect offers an all-encompassing experience where performance, comfort, and safety can be managed intuitively inside and
outside the car.
Staying connected to your Grecale allows you to *stay up to date on its status and position at all times. You can stay in contact with the car via your smartphone, smartwatch or virtual assistant (Alexa
or Google Assistant) from the comfort of your own home. Real-time traffic information and map updates make navigation a breeze, while information on vehicle health status is sent regularly so you can plan your next service
easily online. Last but not least, dedicated support is available in an emergency or if the car breaks down or is stolen.

Every journey aboard the Maserati Grecale features an extraordinary driving experience and uncompromising dynamic comfort, partly thanks to the new Vehicle Dynamic Control Module (VDCM) system and the 360-degree control it offers
over the car. A 100 per cent Maserati project, designed, implemented and calibrated in-house, it can set precise targets and timing for all the major actuators in the vehicle, ensuring they are all aligned, reducing intervention
times and increasing performance, driving pleasure and vehicle safety.
The Grecale's six-cylinder 3000-cc twin-turbo engine revolves around Maserati Twin Combustion (MTC) technology (in the Trofeo). More than a technological
evolution, the Grecale engine demonstrates how technology created for Formula One—then mounted onto a super sports car with extraordinary performance, such as the MC20—can also be exploited to improve the performance and efficiency
of an SUV. At the same time, advanced technology is able to push consumption down and significantly reduce CO2 emissions.
To make the driving experience even more immediate and enable the driver to configure the car
according to their needs, the Grecale comes with five different drive modes: Comfort, GT, Sport, Corsa And Off-Road.
This is the ideal drive mode for everyday use, guaranteeing maximum usability and comfort. Engine boost and kickdown are limited and improve peak efficiency, while gear change is gradual.
The Pedal Map enables structured acceleration without compromising efficiency. The gear change is regular and smooth. Engine boost is normal. Kickdown and pedal sensitivity are moderate.
Pedal sensitivity and gear change are set to peak performance. The active exhaust valves are always open. The driving position is lowered by 15mm in "Aero Mode", and the steering wheel is more rigid and responsive when
the car is set to Sport mode.
Offers the driver the most extreme experience and the option of enjoying the true embodiment of the Grecale without any compromises. The pedals are highly sensitive and responsive. The gear change is faster than ever. Kickdown
