A chocolate factory has just opened at Nihiwatu Resort, Indonesia

It’s probably the closest you’ll ever get to visiting Charlie’s Chocolate Factory, except it’s called Chris and Charly’s Chocolate Factory and it’s part of the No. 1 Hotel in the World (as voted Travel + Leisure). Through Nihiwatu’s own chocolate factory, Chris Burch, owner of Nihiwatu, and Charly Esperito have invited the Sumbanese to work together and promote the use of local cacao and coconut palm sugar as the main ingredients.

Chris and Charly’s Chocolate Factory will offer guests unrestricted access to both the factory and playground where the former will produce three types of chocolate bars: 65% Milk Chocolate Almonds and Raisins, 70% Dark Chocolate and 85% Dark Chocolate.

They will be available for purchase at the Nihiwatu Gift Shop with contributing profits to The Sumba Foundation.
