We always think about the air pollution outside—in the city, on the streets, any open-air area—but rarely about inside our homes. It could allude to the fact that these microscopic particles are not often visible to the naked eye. They could be pollen; or pollutants from seemingly everyday objects such as scented candles, cleaning products, pet hair, air fresheners and even furniture (some contain foam that can release formaldehyde gas). That’s where the new Dyson Pure Cool purifying fans have an upper hand. It detects, reacts and cools every corner of the room.
With a new LCD display, you’ll be able to know which particles and gases are in the room, as automatically sensed by the Dyson Pure Cool purifying fan in real-time. You’ll even get an air quality reading. The new range comes in two shapes: a large tower format and a smaller desk format. Both are however fitted with a new filter, enabling them to capture gasses (including odours) and 99.95 per cent of ultrafine particles.
Since Dyson does call it a fan. It does just that. It absorbs pollutants but projects clean air to every corner of the room – reportedly up to 290 litres of purified air per second. Having a 350-degree oscillation helps. Of course, if you’re feeling chilly enough, you don’t have to opt for the forward airflow mode (where it works as a very clean fan). There’s also the diffused airflow mode (aka purification-only).
While the purifying fans do come with a magnetised remote control, it’s even more convenient with the Dyson Link app (available on both iOS and Android). It lets you track indoor and outdoor pollution, temperature and humidity levels. You can also control your machine with it and see how many hours of filter life you have left. Who wouldn’t be a fan of this product, right?
The Dyson Pure Cool purifying fans are available from RM2,399 on shop.dyson.my, the Dyson Demo at The Gardens Mall, and major departmental and electrical stores.
