Malaysia celebrates its 60th independence this year and if there’s one thing we can be proud of is our diversity. In conjunction with the momentous occasion, Google Malaysia once again held the ‘Doodle 4 Google’ contest after a three-year hiatus.
With the theme ‘Celebrating Malaysia’s Diversity’, the competition was open to young artists in four categories based on age groups: seven to nine, 10-12, 13-15 and 16-17. Four finalists were chosen through public voting and after which, the Doodler teams at Google headquarters in Mountain View, California decided upon the overall winner.
This year, the award was handed to Ch’ng Kai Wei with his ‘United, We Shine’ masterpiece. His winning entry will be displayed on Google’s homepage this 16 September.
