To say that we’re excited is an understatement. We’re thrilled that Netflix has dropped the trailer to Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. That’s right, the series has gone feature length and by that we mean it’s some five hours long. Reportedly Netflix is giving viewers the power to choose-your-own-adventure. The streaming has remained mum about it. While information has not been confirmed, we’re already digging the interactive narrative.
The movie is set in 1984 and it follows a young programmer who is working on adapting a fantasy novel into a video game called, you guessed it—Bandersnatch. The premise of the story is pretty straight forward but nothing in Black Mirror is ever as what it seems. Expect some mind-jolting feels and reality-warping moments. Bandersnatch looks set to continue on with the series’ attempt to make viewers re-examine how they lead their life, relationships, social media, technology and more. It is a show with an acute observation of society.
Netflix has certainly pushed the game up with its plethora of interesting shows and if what has been reported is true, this changes the rules even more by giving viewers an opportunity to choose their own destiny, so to speak. Fans have been waiting eagerly for Black Mirror to return after season 4 dropped on Netflix in December 2017.
