Thanks to the power of the people, Foo Fighters will perform their first ever show in Cesena, Italy

Foo Fighters have announced a show in Cesena, Italy on 3 November, following the immensely positive response to a video by Cesena fans that went viral in July this year. Comprising 1,000 local musicians – vocalists, guitarists and drummers – the performance was filmed as a fan campaign to get Foo Fighters to perform in their city.

Frontman Dave Grohl was clearly stricken by the effort put into the video, recalling that his phone was flooded with texts from his friends asking him to watch the video on YouTube.

“Assuming it was just another ‘CAT GETTING STUCK IN A PAPER BAG’ video, I didn’t bite at first, but after the 10,000^th message, I clicked the link and was absolutely blown away by what I saw,” Grohl said in a statement. He added, “To see so many people put so much time, and effort, and love into making music moved me to tears. And the fact that it was a Foo Fighters song… well… it’s hard to put into words how humbled that made me feel. It is without a doubt one of the most beautiful experiences of my entire life.”
