Snow, Shopping and Festive Fun: Highlights of the BURO x Gamuda Gardens Glitter & Glee Festive Market

For our first Christmas bazaar since the pandemic hit, we teamed up with Gamuda Gardens to host two weekends of fun-filled holiday activities in the centre of the sprawling new 810-acre township. Where the music flowed and children danced amidst swirling bubbles and snow, the BURO x Gamuda Gardens Glitter and Glee Festive Market was ablaze with the festive spirit of togetherness and cheer, thanks to everyone involved as well as the families and friends who dropped by to spend their weekends with us.

From day to night, there were epic performances, crafty workshops, snowy spectacles (complete with appearances from the North Pole, of course), and plenty of local vendors––in line with #BUROSupportsLocal initiatives––offering a range of products across lifestyle, food, drinks and more for the bazaar.

Watch our full recap below:

ICYMI, read on for 9 things that we’re grateful for and that played an important role in making the four-day event a joyous and fruitful occasion:

1. The giant, snowing Christmas tree

Taking centre stage on the grassy plains of the bazaar and making for a gorgeous backdrop for the ‘gram was a dazzling Christmas tree surrounded by lit-up angels and a pair of Santa’s reindeers ready to take off. Glittering baubles of green, red and silver aside, the tree also boasted a special feature that brought the hallmarks of a true winter wonderland to the market: Snow! Taking place at intervals throughout the day and across the weekend, visitors were treated with an exclusive snowfall experience that left every branch, head and surrounding patch of ground covered in a flurry of snowflakes. Let it snow, indeed!

2. The live band performances

What’s Christmas without carols? Adding to the warm and merry mood was a Christmas band––complete with a live singer, saxophonist and keyboardist, who soundtracked the weekend with all of our favourite festive tunes and more.

3. Meeting Santa and Santarina

Alongside the many families, friends and lovers who dropped by the bazaar, we also had two special visitors from the North Pole: Santa Claus and Santarina. Decked out in holly, jolly red and with gifts in tow, the merry pair brought plenty of joy (and photo ops) as they sauntered around the grounds with cheers and twinkling smiles in their eyes.

4. Oh Cha Matcha’s delectable drinks

Matcha fans were in for a treat as Oh Cha Matcha was on site with an array of their signature drinks and limited-edition Christmas collections, including their Christmas Gift Boxes, Gingerbread House DIY Kit, and Chocolate Advent Calendar, which were all up for grabs.

5. The minimal yet thoughtful designs of Nom Studio

Just in time for end-of-year gatherings, Nom Studio’s assortment of timeless, tasteful ceramics offered plenty to choose from if you were looking to update your tableware or shopping for a gift.

6. Sundays with Violet’s handmade body care range

From adorable Christmas-themed bath bombs to colourful bath sands and ever-essential sanitisers, shoppers were treated to a wide range of handcrafted products that were not only creatively smile-inducing but also good for the body and skin.

7. Making a difference with Eats Shoots Roots

In addition to supporting local, every purchase from the Christmas bazaar helped to make a difference as 10 per cent of total proceeds went to Eats, Shoots & Root’s Sayur in the City programme in harmony with Gamuda Garden’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives and sustainability ethos. The programme aims to equip primary school teachers with the knowledge and tools on how to guide their students in setting up an edible school garden according to their individual capacity, with the help of a monthly Grow Kit that contains different seeds to grow and explore.

8. The magical LED dancing butterflies

With the arrival of each nightfall, two dancing butterfly princesses came out to play. Dressed in fairy-like costumes, the dancers twirled and swirled their incredible LED wings with swooping grace and ballerina agility, presenting a breathtaking performance to remember.

9. You!

A massive thank you to everyone who came by the BURO x Gamuda Gardens Glitter and Glee Festive Market. It wouldn’t have been the same without the families, friends and fur-babies who took the time to spend their weekends and help spread the festive joy and spirit with us. Merry Christmas to all!
