Universal Bakehouse

Highly praised for their heavenly pairing of country sourdough with sea salt French butter, many would vouch that it’s to die-for. Guaranteed to be a one-of-a-kind cafe in PJ, the team prioritises heavily on their bread quality and is committed to serving you the freshest baked goods you can find here. A few best-selling items on the menu are their coffee (pick any), the ever light and fluffy scones, its signature sourdough with sea salt butter (obviously), apple sourdough, apple pie, chocolate brownies, calamansi cake, and Turkey Ham & Pistachio Tartine.

Seats can be an issue as the cafe is pretty tiny, but it’s all good doughthey make up for dishing out premium quality meals in town. Loaf around the cafe (bun intended) and get your carb cravings fixed!

GRUB by Ah Hong & Friends

Previously a struggling chap fan store, restaurant owner Ah Hong gave a full revamp to his failing business, turning it into a modest (not fancy) steakhouse and now doing exceptionally well, better than ever. Over at GRUB, foodies can look forward to having a sinful, hearty feast and satiate gobsmackingly delicious meat servings of well-seasoned, juicy steaks including wagyu, New York striploin, T-bone steak, tomahawks, and more.

If you don’t want any beef, that’s fine tootheir grilled lamb, seafood bouillabaisse, and grilled chicken chop also received favourable reviews. Not only that, this eatery is commended for its affordable prices for the variety of steaks, which is the reason why the restaurant functions on a self-service basis, able to keep their food prices down. Although usually packed with large crowds, the ambiance of the restaurant still manages to ooze cosy vibes amongst the busy settingdefinitely a trendy spot to chill with your loved ones or old friends for a memorable night.

If you’re looking for places to get your sugar cravings fixed, this hidden gem can definitely cater upon your sweet tooth needs. Like its name, their waffles are known to be crispy on the outside, yet soft and fluffy when bite into it.
