7 Things you can do this weekend: 12–13 August 2017

1. Get Cultured: Kombucha & Water Kefir Soda Pops workshop at Fittie Sense, Bangsar, 9.30am – 11.30am, 13 August

Learn the art of fermenting your own water kefir and kombucha from Australia’s The Good Seed Kefir. You’ll be amazed at how you can transform your favourite fruits and flavours into fizzy drinks.

2. AK Balloon Run 4.0 at Avenue K, 6am – 12pm, 13 August 

The route around Avenue K will be splattered with bright, bobbing pink balloons this weekend as the AK Balloon Run is back. Each participant starts off with four balloons tied to their body and it’s important to have them all at the finishing line as losing each one will add 10 seconds to their total race time.

3. Introduction to Latin Calligraphy: Carolingian Minuscules at Stickerrific, Jaya One, 1pm – 4.30pm, 12 August

The workshop aims to initiate you into the beauty of writing the classic script called Carolingian minuscule which was developed in the 8th century. You’ll learn how to use the calligraphy dip pen before the class starts with an introduction to the Latin script. The instructor is Marie-Aimée Tourres who has been building her skills in Paris.

4. School of Collector at Jaya One, 10am – 10pm, 12 – 13 August

Purveyors of all things vintage—antiques, toys, vinyl records, pop culture merchandises and more—would do well to stop by this collectors’ market.

5. Pouring Art workshop at The Craft Crowd, Bangsar, 12 and 13 August

The Craft Crowd is adding a new program to their growing list of workshops: pouring art. Each participant will make two artworks—one on a 30cm round-shaped canvas and another on an A5 piece.

6. Good Vibes Festival 2017 at The Ranch@Genting Highlands, 12 – 13 August
