Breaking away from the traditional impression that pewter would usually receive, Royal Selangor is embarking on a literal new beginning with their Spring 2016 collection that is in itself inspired by life’s beautiful new beginnings.
As it is, their range of pewter products make wonderful gifts for almost any occasion but this time, there is an extra touch of artistic influences, inspirations and innovative ways of using pewter—exemplifying that they’re more than just a beautiful display.
Royal Selangor’s Spring 2016 collection comes in four fine tributes to every individual’s biggest moments: a wedding, the arrival of new family members, starting a new home and so much more.
For anyone celebrating a wedding and loves a good fairytale romance, Promessa (it’s ‘promise’ in Italian’) takes its gentle and feminine motifs from the lace bodice and trims of a flowing bridal dress. Find its elegant touches on a ring box, cake knife, photo album, champagne flutes, document holder and photo frames—the latter, we learnt, can be used to display delicate calligraphy of the couple’s names as well.

Do you know anyone (or maybe it’s you) who is soon taking their first step into parenthood? Wonderyears depict the joys of childhood with inspiration from classic children’s poems and favourite characters—and turned them into whimsical arts of pewter such as the round night lamp with a jumping cow over it or the sheep-over-the-fence coin box. The other interesting bit we found out about this particular collection was that the musical carousel box can be used as cake topper!
So you’re (or someone you know) moving into a new home? Then, any item from So is a perfect gift or addition to match the person’s modern lifestyle with its fine craftsmanship and practicality. This line-up consists of a tray, tumbler, salt and pepper shakers and two lidded containers.
