Here’s your exclusive sneak peek at the all-electric Porsche Macan 4

Back in June, we drove a little more than 10 different high-performance Porsche cars at Sepang International Circuit—all in a single day. Exaggerating as it sounds, it’s true. 23 cars were brought in specifically for Porsche World Roadshow 2024, with a combined total of 10,000 PS. Porsche’s impressive lineup features the 911 Targa 4 GTS, 911 Turbo S, 911 GT3 RS, 718 Cayman GT4 RS, Spyder RS, Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid, and Macan GTS, along with the latest models like the new Panamera, Taycan Turbo, and Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo.

While we find our day pretty much fulfilled with the plethora of nifty cars, we also got an exclusive sneak peek of the Macan 4 and Macan Turbo, with launch dates unknown just yet

ALL-ELECTRIC BUT SPEED

10 years after its launch, the Macan has gone all-electric—marking this the second all-electric model from Porsche. The Macan uses the latest generation of permanently-excited PSM electric motors on the front and rear axles. The Macan 4 produces up to 300kW (408 PS) of over-boost power, while the Macan Turbo boasts up to 470 kW (639 PS). The maximum torque is 650 and 1,130 Nm, respectively. Its sports car-like performance is complemented by rapid fast charging up to 270 kW and a WLTP-certified range of up to 613 km. All of the above combined to provide exceptional E-Performance across all terrains (whether you decide on the Macan 4 or Macan Turbo) while ensuring practical day-to-day usability. Did we mention that the Macan 4 accelerates from a standstill to 100km/h in 5.2 seconds, while the Macan Turbo just takes 3.3 seconds? Now you know. The two models achieve top speeds of 220 and 260km/h, respectively.

For the first time, the Macan also offers optional rear-axle steering, providing a five-degree maximum steering angle. This feature reduces the turning circle to 11.1 meters in urban environments and enhances stability at higher speeds, complementing the precise front-axle steering the brand is known for.

The electric motors are powered by a 100 kWh lithium-ion battery located under the car, with up to 95 kWh available for use. This battery is a key part of Porsche’s new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) with 800-volt technology. The DC charging capacity reaches up to 270 kW, allowing the battery to charge from 10 to 80 percent in about 21 minutes at compatible fast-charging stations.

SLEEK, SPORTY, DOMINANT

Speed aside, the new Macan models are now even sleeker, dynamic and dominant. Its classic Porsche proportions are now sharper, developed and optimally adapted to the challenges of an electric vehicle. This allows a heightened, more sporty and modern appearance while still upholding the Porsche Design DNA. Strongly pronounced shoulders give the rear a muscular look. Completed with the Porsche logo sitting at the centre of the sculptural 3D light strip.

The models hold up to 22-inch wheels with staggered tyre fitment, with headlights that are divided into two parts. The flat upper light unit with four-point daytime running lights embedded in the wings emphasises the width of the car and the main highlight module with optional matrix LED technology is positioned on the lower front end.

Luggage space? Plenty. Now with two luggage compartments, amounting to 136 litres more than the previous models’ bonnet with a capacity of 84 litres. Depending on the model, the capacity behind the rear seat bench is up to 540 litres, in addition to the 84 litres located under the bonnet.

The new Porsche Macan 4 and Macan Turbo combine high-performance SUV capabilities with practicality for daily use, featuring high-quality equipment and a spacious configuration. Whether for daily use or long-distance travel, the new Macan models put everything you need and more right at your fingertips.
