#CheatDayEats: Local artisan ice cream

With familiar flavours like teh tarik, durian, and gula melaka, it is no surprise that local artisan ice cream parlours are quickly becoming more popular. Here are 3 wonderful ice cream parlours that you should try out for Cheat Day this week.

1. Inside Scoop

For local exotic flavours like durian and cempedak, Inside Scoop is the place to head to. All their ice cream, waffles, and waffle cones are made in-house and they are absolutely delicious. If you can’t decide on what flavour to get, their extremely friendly staff members are happy to let you try as many of their delectable ice cream flavours as you want. A word of caution — try not to sample that many flavours because they are so good, you will want them all.

2. Fatbaby Ice Cream

Fatbaby believes in creating decadent ice cream with a playful twist with unique flavours such as Apple Crumble, Coconut Candy and Coffee Crunch. All of their ice cream are made with natural ingredients and do not contain any artificial additives. If you frequent cafes in the Damansara and Mont Kiara area, their blue and white cups of ice cream might be no stranger to you. But if you want to try more of their creative flavours, you can visit their store in Subang Jaya where they have a bigger variety of flavours.

3. Cielo Dolci

Famed for their Nasi Lemak ice cream, Cielo Dolci churns out their ice cream using traditional Italian methods. Having started in humble beginnings with a small shop front in Paradigm Mall, Cielo Dolci has now ventured into opening a gelateria & cafe and a sundae bar that showcases the versatility of their heavenly flavours. However, a must-try still remains their Nasi Lemak ice cream.
