MTV Video Music Awards 2024: All the red carpet looks you can’t miss
Glamour supreme
The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards took place at the UBS Arena in New York last night, generating a wave of headlines with Taylor Swift’s seven wins, Katy Perry’s Vanguard Award, and Lisa’s captivating solo debut. However, the red carpet had its own share of memorable moments, and we’ve rounded up 20 of our favourite looks from the evening.
First up is Blackpink’s Lisa, who exudes royal elegance in a bespoke nude embroidered corset gown by Mugler. Next is Tyla, who claimed the Best Afrobeats award in Look 33 from New York-based brand Area—a striking yellow spaghetti fringe corset top and matching mini skirt. Taylor Swift also made a bold statement, opting for a Dior printed technical taffeta bustier and skirt layered over black velvet shorts, complete with gloves.
Another eye-catching moment came from Addison Rae, who turned heads with a custom underwear set paired with a voluminous tutu by Miss Claire Sullivan. Chappell Roan made a dramatic entrance, arriving with a literal sword while dressed in a sheer tulle gown from Y/Project, accentuated by a flowing cloak. And then there’s Sabrina Carpenter, who took home Song of the Year for Espresso, dazzled in a vintage Bob Mackie dress, famously worn by Madonna in the early ‘90s.
Elsewhere, Megan Thee Stallion impressed in a corseted mermaid gown with an exaggerated taffeta train by Nicole + Felicia Couture, evoking the elegance of a floral bouquet and accentuating her hourglass silhouette. Tinashe, on the other hand, showed up on the red carpet in a Rick Owens dress with daring bust cutouts and a leather skirt. Additionally, Tate McRae caught attention, paying homage to Britney Spears in a sheer black lace minidress by Roberto Cavalli. Discover more of our favourite looks from the award show below.
