Dressed up Fridays: What to wear to a beach wedding

Beach weddings always evoke a more romantic sentiment compared to the usual indoor weddings – something to do with the sun dipping into the horizon as the couple of the day exchange their vows on the idyllic shoreline. As a guest attending a wedding as such, dress up in this feminine look without looking too over- or underdressed:

A shorter dress instead of a full-length gown is more convenient and easy to move around on the beach. Mimic the colours of dusk with its fuchsia and red hues in this Stella McCartney dress. We couldn’t resist the utterly breathtaking plissé-cut pleats that give it a fluid, lightweight look.

Obviously, the marbled wave motif on this Edie Parker clutch makes it the perfect accessory to complement your vivid dress. Crafted from hand-poured acrylic to create a beautiful pearlescent finish, its boxy style fits a phone, lipstick and a packet of tissues (in case you start getting teary).

One other thing we love about beach weddings? You can eschew the usual heels that will result in achey feet, and go with pretty flat sandals. This stunning gold and silver toned leather strappy sandals from René Caovilla will complement your ensemble to a T.

We’re going down the matchy-matchy route with this one: Put on these rainbow colour Swarovski crystal earrings that are inspired by aquatic flowers. The best part is that you can wear it as a simple stud in one ear, and a dangling version in the other for a snazzy look.

Go for Chanel’s light-diffusing powder blush from its Spring 2016 L.A Sunrise Collection to get that pretty rose-tinged look. Dust it across your cheekbones for a healthy glow, or structure it by shading the dip of your cheeks and emphasising your temples, forehead and facial contour.

Keep your complexion in check with Sulwhasoo’s best-selling cushion compact. Its blend of apricot seed and Korean herbs help to create a smooth glow while covering spots and wrinkles. Better yet, its coverage lasts up to 12 hours so you don’t have to worry about touch-ups in between the wedding.
